Pandora, SiriusXM and TikTok launch TikTok Radio
This TikTok-inspired station will be available on SiriusXM and Pandora and will feature TikTok DJs, creators, and tastemakers including Bella Poarch, Christian Shelton, and Nick Tangorra.
In addition to offering access to TikTok content, SiriusXM shows, and Pandora concerts, the collaboration will promote emerging talents and help TikTok to showcase “the trending sounds that are redefining pop culture,” according to the deal.
SiriusXM App, desktop, and all connected devices will provide streaming access to the station.
A radio version of TikTok ‘s For You page will highlight the best music and stories behind the videos, and it will also play daily curated content from TikTok creators, Pandora and SiriusXM say.
According to TikTok, SiriusXM, and Pandora, the platform will also feature a weekly music countdown devoted to TikTok’s trending tracks, and listeners can expect to hear directly from creators and musicians.
TikTok Tastemakers, a collection of exclusive playlists hosted by Pandora, will feature TikTok creators who will walk listeners through their favourite songs.
TikTok Tastemakers allows creators to curate and promote playlists for their fans on TikTok. The series launches with a performance from Bella Poarch.
Pandora users can also listen to the TikTok Hits Playlist featuring all of the latest and greatest songs featured on TikTok.
TikTok users can also view Pandora’s original live events series, Pandora LIVE. Pandora LIVE Powered by Women with Gwen Stefani and Jazmine Sullivan recently re-aired on TikTok.
The SiriusXM CEO and President Scott Greenstein said: “We are looking forward to collaborating with TikTok to bring the richness of the leading social network to SiriusXM’s live and streaming platforms.”
TikTok’s Global Head of Music, Ole Obermann, said: “TikTok allows fans to discover music and artists in a new way and engage in creative self-expression.”
TikTok creator Christian Shelton, who will be featured in Pandora’s TikTok Tastemakers series, said, “I wouldn’t have dreamed that, earlier this year, I’d appear in a Super Bowl commercial.”
TikTok’s own analytics show that the app reached 732 million monthly active users (MAUs) in October 2020, and that number surpassed 100 million MAUs in the United States.
